There has been some speculation in the press and some online bingo blog sites over the last few days that Endemol and Virtue Fusion have entered into an agreement in respect of online bingo games. An official press release on the Virtue Fusion site now confirms that this speculation is in fact true and that Endemol have given Virtue Fusion the go ahead to produce a themed online bingo game or games based on the successful Deal or No Deal show. Virtue Fusion is now in a race to develop and release the new games by the end of October.
Virtue Fusion have a massive feather in their cap managing to secure the exclusive software deal with Endemol and it is believed that big name online bingo game sites like Paddy Power Bingo and Mecca Bingo will be keen to have the new online bingo game featured on their sites. As well as scoring the success with Deal or No Deal, Virtue Fusion have also been given the right to develop software for bingo games based on the Big Brother and Golden Balls games, this contract however provides non-exclusive rights to these shows. It is understood from the press release that Virtue Fusion will also be developing scratchcard versions of the popular television shows, Deal or No Deal, Big Brother and Golden Balls, and these will be released sometime in the autumn of 2009.
The CEO of Virtue Fusion, Bob McCulloch is rightly proud of achieving such a major online bingo software coup saying in the press release “This represents a huge opportunity for our operators to partake in this exclusive contract. This deal with Endemol is further evidence of our determination to strengthen our product range and provide the tools with which to progress our business ahead of the competition”. There appears to be a bit of mutual back slapping as Jurian van der Meer, the head of the UK department of Brand Exploitation and Products said of the Deal or No Deal agreement “I’m really excited to see it combined with bingo to create a new entertainment experience. By partnering with Virtue Fusion to develop the game we’re able to distribute to some of the biggest operators in the bingo industry.” We look forward to bringing Bingo Hideout readers news of the new Deal or No Deal software once it has been released.
