The team at Bingo Hideout had recently wondered how fresh impetus could be given to the I’m Backing Bingo campaign, and although some might have forgotten the I’m Backing Bingo campaign, the MP for South Cheshire Edward Timpson certainly had not. Not only has the local MP and Mecca Bingo club member been working tirelessly to get the voice of his local bingo playing constituents heard. but he has also signed an Early Day Motion to bring about the scrapping of the unpopular tax increases. Edward Timpson is a big bingo fan and supports his local Mecca bingo club which is based at Phoenix Leisure Park, Crewe.
Bingo Hideout have reported many times on the I’m Backing Bingo campaign and how all the big bingo giants like Mecca Bingo and Gala Bingo have campaigned to get the Government to reverse the high taxation levied in the budget near the beginning of the year. Of course bingo players up and down the country have been following suit and have been campaigning hard to try to preserve the bingo halls presence on the high street. Left to the Government the much smaller number of bingo halls that are left could completely disappear if taxation is brought to a more reasonable level.
We applaud Mr Timpson for providing the opportunity once more to cover what is a critical situation for bingo and hope that other MP’s will now continue to fight the Government on this very important issue. Bingo Hideout calls on all MP’s to allow their bingo playing constituents voices to be heard, as the Government appears to be completely deaf to any reasoned argument in respect of bingo.
