After much intensive research and as a result of a panel of judges having trawled through the many, many entries for the hottest title in land based bingo this year, the Bingo Buddy 2009 award from Mecca Bingo has finally been announced.
Sisterhood gets a huge thank you
This award is aimed at showing appreciation for friendships which come together as a result of the bingo hall. Mecca Bingo set up this award as a mark of respect for the strong friendships that start up in their bingo halls, so that player’s tireless devotion to each other was acknowledged and thanked. In order to assess who should walk away with the trip to New York, meccabingo.com asked for members to vote for their favourite bingo buddy, and asked that each vote also contained an explanation of why players had voted for their chosen roomie. After much deliberation from the judges over the finalists, it would seem that this year it’s the turn of good-hearted Sarah Bartin of Exeter.
Hopelessly devoted to you
Thanks to her tireless devotion to her sister who was diagnosed with cancer at a very young age, Sarah and her sister Hayley are now lucky enough to walk away with an all expenses paid shopping trip to New York! The exclusive award was presented to Sarah by Head Judge, Jane McDonald, who you’ll recognise from the ITV’s brilliant Loose Women.
An emotional journey
Commenting on the judge’s choice, Jane had this to say, ” Hearing all of the finalists’ stories was very emotional. Sarah stood out because of her undoubted support to her sister, how is also her best friend. Sarah has been Hayley’s rock through a very turbulent time. To hear that Hayley is yet to receive the news as to whether she is in remission is very upsetting, however Sarah is being as supportive as ever and making sure that they don’t let this get them down”.
Speaking of her win, Sarah stated that, ” I am over the moon that I was chosen as the winner. I am stunned and shocked! I didn’t think I stood chance as my friendship and support to Hayley is what anyone in a similar position would and should do. I am overjoyed at the prospect of going to New York”.
