As usual the Bingo Hideout girls have been talking about their weight, this is a constant topic of discussion and if not talking about our excessive weight then the health and dietary benefits of chocolate (or maybe sometimes Peter Andre). The reason for the most recent discussion is the awful photoshopped image of curvy but gorgeous Christina Hendricks. Christina has been talking about how criticisms of her weight in the media have upset her and in particular an article in the New York Times that carried an image that had been altered to make her seem larger than she actually is.
Photoshopped to look two sizes bigger
The Bingo Hideout girls can only imagine the distress caused, after all when you have taken trouble to look your best for an evening out you really would not expect some spiteful individual to enlarge your image to make you seem twice the size that you normally are – and then more shockingly, to display the image in the press for the world to gap at. Looking at the image reproduced here, we can’t say that Christina Hendricks looks disgustingly huge in either picture, but how dare someone take an image and tinker with it to make her look unnaturally big. The reason for the image being tinkered with was to give supporting evidence to a claim by the New York Times writer Cathy Horyn, that Christina should not wear the "exploding ruffle dress," believing it to be a fashion faux pas, she stated in the accompanying text that "As one stylist said, 'You don't put a big girl in a big dress. That's rule number one”.
Beautifully curvaceous or too chubby?
There seems to be a complete obsession at the moment with women being either too big or too small, and none of us seem to ever get it right. The press seem to be completely demonising anyone that is over a size 12, and want all women to be a rather unnatural American size ‘0’. Thankfully for Christina Hendricks she has a loving husband who jumped to her defence, the very lucky Geoffrey Arend. The Times have responded to criticisms about the rather catty article with a statement that read "A number of readers raised concerns that the photo of Christina Hendricks at the Golden Globe Awards had been deliberately altered. The photo was slightly distorted inadvertently due to an error during routine processing. The photograph has been replaced."
The story about how upset Christina is regarding comments on her figure was published in yesterdays People magazine. The article featured a pretty stunning image which had been published in the New York magazine showing Christina in her underwear, and from this image there is no doubt this woman is far from fat. What do our readers think? Bingo Hideout girls how would you feel if this had happened to you? Bingo Hideout guys, what do you think about Christina, gorgeous or too big (careful now how you respond!) is she everything a woman should be, or too curvy? The Bingo Hideout office staff ALL think that Christina is lovely and far from chubby but we would love to hear our readers views.
