How tweet - poppy in the snowThe snowy weather is the talk of the Bingo Hideout office and of course the rest of the nation.  Those that have had snow are either; a. Overjoyed and playing like 3 years olds in the white stuff or b. Moaning continually about the inconvenience.  Similarly those that haven’t had any sign of snow are a. Overjoyed because they are not being inconvenienced or b. Moaning about the fact they don’t have any snow to play about like 3 year olds in! The heavy snow has caused major disruption to parts of the UK with road, airport and school closures and with more snow predicted for parts of the UK it could get worse before it gets better.

Snow brings out creativity of the twitterati!

Bingo Hideout in search of weather and snow news also discovered an interesting app that has been created by Ben Marsh for Twitter.  The tweets are live and delivered by the twitterers and give real-time information of where the snow is and how severe it is.  There are also photographs displayed with a map of the UK showing with almost pinpoint accuracy where all the snow currently is.  To take part in the UK Snow on Twitter just use the hashtag #UKsnow, add the first part of your postcode then rate the amount of snow 0/10 = no snow, a few flakes is 1/10 or 2/10, lighter amounts of snow are rates at 3-4/10, heavier snowfall is 5-6/10 with maximum and blizzard conditions ranking 7/10 to 10/10.

Unlucky for some but online bingo can help, honest snow joke!

If you are a regular at your local bingo hall and have been affected by the heavy snowfall you might like to find an alternative to help ease the boredom of being housebound.  This is where online bingo sites can prove invaluable, big name sites like Foxy Bingo, Mecca Bingo or Gala Bingo are an excellent starting point to embrace the world of online bingo.  Don’t think for one minute if you have never played online bingo before, that you won’t have the same sense of community that you do at the local bingo hall, the community spirit long associated with bingo players is as alive online as it is on the high street, go on have a go ........ you will love it!
