- 30 Aug 11

There are some sad things reported in the news, but the recent report of a Doncaster woman who stole thousands of pounds from her disabled mother, so she could play online bingo, has to be one of the most distressing. Clearly any online bingo player who reaches such an all-time low, needs help……… and lots of it.
Manchester riots update - Bingo winning mum free on appeal
- 28 Aug 11
Bingo News
Ursula Nevin has achieved a lot of press inches for being a bingo winner turned bad, after being jailed for her part in receiving stolen goods that were taken from shops during the Manchester riots. Nevin’s name has been dragged through the mud for her role (albeit tiny part) in the shocking riots that hit many parts of the UK at the beginning of August. Nevin has since been released from jail after a successful appeal, and will now complete 75 hours of unpaid community work instead of the custodial sentence that had originally been meted out.
XBingo Silo 18 software platform ….. the new black?
- 26 Aug 11
Bingo News
The brains behind the new XBingo software, Mark Everett is hoping that his new bingo platform will take the online gaming world by storm. The Silo 18 software is totally unique to XBingo and is a world away from the usual platform that the parent company, Mandalay Gaming Holdings opts for. Not for them the bog standard white labels, or the same-old, same-old, instead they have chosen state-of-the-art software rather than the one size fits all that the majority of new sites choose. Although Mandalay has elected to have a standalone platform for all their sites, the Silo 18 platform is a complete break from their usual Dragonfish, which powers Sing Bingo, Costa Bingo and City Bingo.
X Factor hopefuls take the steps to stardom!
- 22 Aug 11
Bingo News
All of the reality TV fans will have been glued firmly to their seats on Saturday for the X Factor... and of course that includes the likes of the girls in the Bingo Hideout office. In fact the chat has been almost entirely about the changes that have happened at the X Factor, some good and some not so good.
The new series of course has seen ¾ of the regular judging panel replaced by new, albeit familiar faces. If you haven’t yet had a chance to catch up with developments or watched the replays, then you might have missed that Gary Barlow, Tulissa and Kelly Rowland are keeping the seats at the famous desk warm. When we say keeping the seats warm, there is no hint at present that the regular judges, Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Danni Minogue are intending to return. However in the Bingo Hideout office it is the general consensus that this is purely a temporary situation, a bit like Louis when he left once before and was ‘lured back’. Louis Walsh of course is now the only long-standing member of the X Factor panel that is on the show.
Mecca Bingo proving it is possible to buck the trend
- 20 Aug 11
Bingo News
Mecca Bingo high street bingo halls are bucking the trend at the moment, at a time when most companies are suffering from the effects of the recession. Mecca Bingo is adding value to their operation and the results of their efforts are showing in their reported revenues.
Mecca Bingo certainly seems to be turning their bricks and mortar bingo operations around. They have put the fun back into bingo; this has been helped with the addition of the hugely successful Full House Destination Clubs ‘After Dark’ evening sessions at Beeston, Catford, Oldbury, Aberdeen, Dagenham and Southend. Which we understand is a thrilling mix of clubbing and bingo.
Mirror Bingo suffers decline in revenues
- 18 Aug 11
Bingo News
It would seem that fickle online bingo players are to blame for a drop in revenues for the Mirror Group, well if recent reports are to be believed. The downturn in trading figures for the group, has been attributed in part to online bingo players changing camps from Mirror Bingo to alternative sites. It is true that there are a growing number of online bingo sites launching, and this means that established sites like Mirror Bingo need to up their game to stay ahead of the new sophisticated player-hungry entrants to the market.
New players win in deposit bonus error at CAESARS BINGO!
- 15 Aug 11
Bingo News
You know the old adage that the house always wins, well at CAESARS Bingo this might not always be the case. It has just come to light that an ‘error’ has meant that new players at the popular online bingo site, have been able to withdraw winnings whilst still retaining their deposit and initial bonus funds without having to meet strict play-through terms. The mistake is being widely reported in the national press and has understandably left the Gamesys run, CAESARS Bingo with quite a lot of egg on their face – and a whole lot lighter in their group pocket.
