Mecca Bingo Hall in Yarmouth to close

After years of fun and entertainment, Mecca Bingo has decided to close their bingo hall in Great Yarmouth. The bingo hall, currently located on the site of the old Regent Road cinema is due to close on 4th December and its former customers are faced with the trouble of travelling the 20 miles to Norwich to continue playing bingo.

Gambling worker convicted of selling bingo players’ personal details

A Finchley resident, formerly employed in the gambling industry has found himself in deep trouble with the law. Marc Ben-Ezra, who was working for a poker company in Israel at the time of his offence, has been found guilty after obtaining and selling the personal details of over 65,000 online bingo players. His offences fell under section 55 of the Data Protection Act.
Bingo addict steals over £40,000 from 'Friend'

Dawn Kyle, 61, has been tried and sentenced to 15 months in jail for theft of £42,000 from a close childhood friend to play bingo. Kyle, who worked as a carer for her victim, siphoned the funds from her friend’s account over a ten-month period from January to October 2009 and she admitted to four offences of theft during this period.
