Jackpot NO Joy 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
My dispute with JackpotJoy arises because of the miss-comunication with
thier rules...or so called rules.

I was playing a promotion game, and under the pretences that it was a game
anyone could play. While it is true anyone could play it, they failed to
point out that only those that were paying to play would ever win a prize.
They were holding a promotion...called Advent Callendar and Santa's
Crackers. Great little games and fun to play. I was playing it for
ages...about 3 or 4 days...when i was told, i wouldn't be eligible for a
prize on either of them, because i was not paying to play. So
basically...i played for 3 days non stop near enough...to find out i was
being duped into thinking i might just win a prize.....when i was in fact
not even eligible.

I was annoyed at this...and that's why I merely asked that they could put
a " *Subject to terms and conditions " on the logo or promotion
graphic....this would cover them against any missguided people thinking
they going to win when they wont (and of course miss-selling under the
Distance Selling Regulations)

This seemed to lead to the fact they were not amused and went all
defensive and started quoting the rules were fine. I wasn't asking to
change them...just to make it clear to everyone that not everyone could
win if they took part. They claimed the rules were at the bottom of the
page, in which some basic rules were, but this was also not clearly
pointed out either, and so missleading.

This to me was not acceptable, as i was merely trying to make a point and
get my point accross...so i made a few false accounts to try and get back,
ok this obviously wasn't the right thing to do here, but i was a bit
annoyed, and was in the processof investigating them anyway.

So above all, i was misled into believing something that was not
true...and this is false advertising....so as much as i broke the
rules...so did they...and i will make this very clear to everyone.

If you complain to JackpotJoy..it goes to JackpotJoy, and no further.
Gamesys and JJ are the same bloody company, but that not my problem.

I contacted the UK official body...the Gambling commision..and they are
aware of the situation, but can do nothing as JackpoyJoy servers are not
located in the UK. Netherlands Antilies area is based in the Carribean,
and have so far NO diplomatic regulations or dealings with the UK
goverment.

My advice, always, always check out WHERE a company is based, and where
the servers are based. Never give out any money or details untill you have
checked them out to strickt laws...otherwise it's not only your bank
details at risk..but also your identity.

Above all, gambling should be fun, and entertaining, as well as safe and
legal. Never spend more than you can reasonably afford to loose, and
always seek advice from a legal reputable advice centre if you think your
addicted.
