Wink Bingo

Interesting news from the social networking site Facebook this week. As those of you who read the Hideout news pages will already be aware, Facebook is one of the most popular places online bingo to play free bingo, and because of this and the game’s popularity it’s in house bingo application currently has nearly 400,000 players signed up to it. There are also many online bingo sites which have their own Facebook page for players to follow their games with.

Can we be compared to firearms?

In light of all these things the latest announcement to stop all bingo ads going up on Facebook is an interesting tautism. Facebook has in fact put a stop on all gaming ads as their latest review of the ads on this site has flagged bingo up as being on their ‘morally unacceptable’ list. There are many other items on this list including firearms. It’s understandable why any social site of any standing would want to ban any product that is unsolicited or unregulated but given that UK online bingo is all regulated it is a staggering choice for a site for whom advertising revenue is such a huge part.

Reaching out

If you are a member of any of the bigger name brands of online bingo you’ll probably be aware of their Facebook page after all, even the fabulous Hideout has a Facebook page for ease of accessibility. What we do not yet know is how far those at Facebook will go; will these pages have to be taken down too? Or will the pop up ads that appear for players of the game have to be removed?

With sites such as Wink Bingo and the Hideout itself watching for more news every day, please let us know if you hear of any updates before we do. As regular visitors will know we are also on Twitter so if you want to stay in touch while you’re on the go for now you can catch us through either.
