altLast week, gamers on the move had a very pleasant surprise when Sky Bingo announced the launch of their new mobile application for iOS devices. Currently, bingo-lovers have a very limited choice of places they can play via their phones, so this is a very welcome addition to the line-up, as well as a great move by Sky to help their players enjoy their favourite games when they can’t access a PC or laptop. The new app works with iPhones, iPads, and wi-fi enabled iPods, and offers a selection of eleven bingo rooms, as well as two instants. Players who are already members of the online version of the site can log straight in with their existing account details, making it extremely easy to keep track of account balances and history, as well as deposit and withdraw funds. New players can also quickly and easily signup for a new account, and get online and playing within minutes.

They’ve also integrated a chat facility, so that members can enjoy a bit of friendly banter with their fellow roomies whilst playing, just like a regular online bingo site. The software uses the Playtech platform, meaning that you can be assured of a high-quality gaming experience, with next to no downtime or crashes. Playtech’s VP of Operations, Shimon Akad, credits their mobile products success to “strong brands” such as Sky, and his company intends to “continue to set new standards” when it comes to offering ways to play on mobile devices.

The new Sky Bingo app can be downloaded directly from the Apple iStore free-of-charge, and when done over wi-fi, it can be installed in less than a minute. Fire it up, and you’ll instantly arrive in the lobby, where you can see the start times of upcoming games, whether they’re 90-ball, 80-ball, 75-ball, Deal or No Deal, or Lucky Clover, the prize pot on offer, and how much tickets cost. If you prefer a particular room, or want to see what’s happening later in the day, a simple click of the Schedule tab will let you browse by room, as well as purchase tickets in advance.

For those who fancy dabbling in something a bit different, the ‘Games’ section currently offers the popular Clover Rollover slot, and a scratch card, with the promise of more games being added soon.

There’s also a handy Help section, as well as a Settings tab where the volume and ticket view can be altered, plus the option to turn chat auto-correct on and off.

Have you tried the new Sky Bingo app yet? If so, let us know what you think! Is there anything you think that needs adding or altering?
