Last weekend, the affiliate industry’s top conference and awards took place in London. The iGB Affiliate awards were on Thursday 26th January, and this annual event is regarded as the opening ceremony for the London Affiliate Conference (LAC). This is also regarded as THE essential event to attend as an affiliate in the gambling industry. Celebrating in style is something that affiliates do fantastically and the Bingo Hideout team are pleased to say that they partied with the best of them…… although the news team were present purely as the investigative journalists that we are ;). We are pleased to report that the event was an absolute success with some very worthy winners along the way.
The iGB Affiliate Awards recognise the top affiliates, affiliate managers and affiliate programmes in the industry and over 400 guests attended the lavish affair. The big name of the night was Bet365 who walked off with four top awards and cemented their position as a top drawer gambling company......... any of our readers who regularly play bingo at Bet365 Bingo will understand why they did so well in the awards stakes. All delegates were treated to great food, great entertainment and the supported charity for the evening was the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. Entertainment included Brazilian-style dancers and free drinks for the majority of the night. MC for the night was Miles Jupp, popular comedian (seen moonlighting in children’s television programme Balamory) and he kept the audience engaged and in peals of laughter with his routine and mannerisms.
The awards themselves saw many a happy company walking away with a gong. At Bingo Hideout, we took most notice of those awards going to others in the bingo industry such as Vikki Taylor of BingCams, who walked away with the Bingo Affiliate Manager award; a fantastic feat considering BingoCams are a relatively new company, only live since last year. Market-ace (Jackpotjoy) also walked away with another award to add to their collection, scooping the Bingo Affiliate Program prize. Another worthy winner and the most notable of the night was Richard Skelhorn of Mandalay Media’s collection of the Outstanding Achievement in iGaming Affiliate Industry award. Skelhorn and his partner Alex Holt are the faces behind several top bingo sites including the massive Costa Bingo and the newer, innovatively designed XBingo.
With his contribution to online bingo and of course the gaming industry as a whole, it’s definitely possible to understand why Skelhorn’s contribution has been honoured. At Bingo Hideout, we’d like to congratulate all the winners on their success, in particular the whole Bet365 Bingo team, well done and the drinks are on you so that we can toast your success ;).
The iGB Affiliate Awards Ceremony was the perfect opening to the LAC 2012 and every year determines who the biggest players in the industry are. Entertaining guests with top comedy, food, drink and entertainment is a great way of launching the most important date in the affiliate industry calendar. We’re already looking forward to the next one.
