Bingo Addict’s crime leads to jail

Back in December, Bingo Hideout reported on the case of Barbara Taylor from Leigh, who admitted to abusing her neighbour’s trust by gambling away her friend’s savings. We can now report that judgement has been made and Taylor’s crime has resulted in a 12 month prison sentence.
Mecca Bingo at the centre of an eighties diplomatic row

With the release of documents that have been hidden for thirty years, it’s emerged that the opening of the Mecca Bingo chain caused a diplomatic rift with the Middle East. Specifically, the opening of the Mecca Bingo chain caused great offence to the Sunni Mufti of Beirut who branded the name as ‘blasphemous’.
New Year Honours for Bet365 Founder

Coates received a CBE for her services to the community and business as the company itself has gone from strength to strength since its foundation in 2000. Second Raid at Irish Bingo Club

Recently, we’ve brought you stories of the Rock Bingo Club in Cork, reporting in November on the original story where they were raided by the gardai and again, in December when they received a court order in their favour declaring their activities as legal. Despite this, the Irish Independent reported on Monday that there has been a second raid at the bingo hall.

Up until this point, Facebook has been championing its own virtual credits in the UK; however they are now working towards finding a way of converting these credits into real money, in a revolutionary new development to their already flourishing network.
Iconic Bingo Hall receives £750,000 refurb

The Liverpool-based Pavilion Bingo Hall is undergoing £750,000 worth of refurbishments and redevelopment after it was burned down in a fire which is rumoured to have been an arson attack. In July, thousands of pounds were stolen from the club and the building was then set alight, which police believe was an attempt by the burglars to cover their tracks.
The Best and Worst of the Bingo Ads

Campaign Magazine’s annual countdown of the best and worst adverts of the year featured one from an up and coming online bingo site. The site in question chose Welsh rugby player and ‘The Bachelor’ star, Gavin Henson as their figurehead. Unfortunately for Brits Bingo, choosing to include some of Henson’s less than snappy dance moves has cost them dearly and won them second place in the worst celeb adverts of 2011. Unfortunately, not one bingo advert made it into the top ten best adverts according to Campaign.
Possible Jail sentence for bingo employee who siphoned cash

Preston loses second bingo hall in three years

News this week has reported that the city of Preston will be losing its second bingo hall in three years with the closure of the Gala Bingo venue on Market Street. In 2009, the city saw the flagship Buckingham Bingo hall on New Lane closing its doors and it seems Prestonians just aren’t going out and playing bingo anymore.
High Court success for persecuted Bingo Club

Back in November, the Irish Times reported that Omega Leisure Ltd, a company running a Bingo Hall in Cork, won a court order against an overzealous gardai and what appeared to be his crusade to close down all gaming establishments in their area. News just in has shown that the court order has fallen in the favour of Omega Leisure and that in fact, their activities have been declared as totally lawful.
